SFDW 12 Angry Designers
Sparking lively debate and conversation over design ethics
opportunity: outlier hosted a “Design Debate Club” event during AIGA’s San Francisco Design Week. The theme of the year was “Question Everything,” which led to our design studio to create a fun participatory event. Twelve “angry” designers were paired up and tasked to answer six pressing questions, opening up a healthy and participatory dialogue on current design issues.
outcome: Our team created the brand identity and structured the programming for the event. Debate topics were primarily focused on design ethics and the role of design in political activism. Before and after the debates, participants were encouraged to vote on their personal stance on issues on a live installation wall, tracking if their opinions have been swayed (or not!).
disciplines: creative direction, art direction, graphic design, print
